Fascinating SILENCE OF THE LAMBS Scene Dissection Shows How The Characters Reveal a Great Deal About Themselves

For those of you who are into filmmaking and storytelling, there’s a great YouTube series you should be watching called Lessons from the Screenplay. In this episode, Michael Tucker takes a look at and breaks down an iconic scene from the incredible thriller Silence of the Lambs.

The scene he focuses on is the third visit that Clarice Starlings (Jodie Foster) makes to Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Sir Anthony Hopkins). In this scene there is a lot of information that the characters reveal about themselves as they speak to each other. It’s quite an intense scene and it plays a huge part in driving the story forward.

Here’s the description that came along with the video:

The Silence of the Lambs is filled with compelling, tense scenes between Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling. In this video, we look at the anatomy of a scene. How each follows a three-act structure and plays a larger role in the narrative.

I love how this video breaks the scene down and reveals some things that audiences may have never thought about before. I hope you enjoy it.
