Featurette For Marvel's SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Series Reveals Tweaked Origin Story

Marvel has released a new featurette for the upcoming series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and it puts a focus on the story and the tone of the series, which is described as a “slice of life” Marvel comedy. Executive producer and head writer Jessica Gao recently told EW:

"What's really fun about this show is that in the Marvel movies, we get to see a lot of high stakes events — the universe is going to end, everyone in existence is going to go away. But what happens in between those events? What happens on a regular Tuesday when you just have to do laundry? That's really kind of the slice of life that this show explores."

The promo, which comes from ET, features interviews with the cast and crew along with some fun and interesting new footage.

Kevin Feige says in the video that “there’s something so surreal and so funny about a giant six-foot-seven Hulk in a courtroom.” Co-executive producer Wendy Jacobson added, “It was about putting a real human being in these absurd situations.”

We also learn that She-Hulk’s origin story was tweaked for the series. In the comic, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) got her powers through a life-saving blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). In this new featurette, we see there’s a car crash involving Jennifer and Bruce Banner. It’s during this event Banner’s special blood accidentally gets into her bloodstream. In the immediate aftermath, Jennifer’s veins are seen pulsating with gamma-radiated blood.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters “as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.”

The nine-episode series also stars Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry also star.

Rick and Morty's Jessica Gao created the show and Kat Coiro split directing duties on the series with Anu Valia. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Brad Winderbaum.

She-Hulk is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 17th.
