Featurette For Netflix's CURSED Offers a Behind-The-Scenes Look at Frank Miller's Arthurian Fantasy Series
The series adaptation of Frank Miller’s Arthurian fantasy story Cursed is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday, but before it does, a new featurette has been released. The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the awesome looking series and it features interviews with the cast, which is led by Katherine Langford, as they talked about Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller’s epic vision for the series.
Langford takes on the role of Nimune in the story; she is “a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”
Cursed is described as “a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”
Devon Terrell takes on the role of Arthur, who will join forces to fight against King Uther Pendragon and the villainous Red Paladins led by Peter Mullan’s Father Carden. The story will also include some of the legendary members of the Round Table, with Matt Stokoe portraying Sir Gawain and Gustaf Skarsgård playing Merlin.
The 10-episode series will be available for streaming on July 17th. Check out the featurette below:
