FINAL FANTASY VIII Is Being Remastered and Everything Else from Square Enix's E3 Presentation

Square Enix had quite the show at this year’s E3. From the reveal of Marvel’s Avengers to a remaster of Final Fantasy VIII, fans had a lot to digest. Here are all the games that were shown off.

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake

    • Fans received a new trailer for the remake of Final Fantasy VII. It was also explained that while the game will still be episodic, the whole game will take up two Blu-ray discs. That’s big. In addition, it looks like they’ve updated the battle system to be more inline with current Final Fantasy titles instead of the classic turn-based combat implemented in the original.

    • Releases on March 3, 2020 for PS4

  • Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

    • I have friends who love this game, and I’m sure they squeed when the announcement was made that this title was being remastered and released on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As my friend said, now we can all play as everyone’s favorite emo boy.

    • Releases 2019

  • Marvel’s Avengers

    • This secret project sounds really cool. I love the story that’s teased in the trailer. I don’t like how everyone looks. There’s just something about their designs that looks very off. At least I feel that way about their faces. You put a helmet on Iron Man or the bad guys and they look pretty cool. I’m still excited for this title, but I do hope they consider touching up the graphics since the internet seems to be in an uproar over them. I do love the voice cast they’ve assembled though. The best part is that as they add heroes and regions to the game, they’ve promised that these extras will not cost anything. Sounds like once you buy the game, you get all the content, current and future. Maybe we can overlook the meh graphics?

    • Releases May 15, 2020
