Final RUNNER Trailer Cranks Up the Action, Comedy, and Chaos With Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson
Angel Studios has dropped the final trailer for Runner, and if you were hoping for a fast-paced action movie with plenty of laughs mixed into the mayhem, this latest preview delivers exactly that.
The new footage leans harder into the film's buddy comedy dynamic while still packing in plenty of explosive action, high-speed chases, and impossible odds. It also introduces one unexpected travel companion that looks like it might end up stealing a few scenes.
Set against the backdrop of Brisbane, Australia, Runner follows a desperate race against the clock where failure simply isn't an option. This final trailer does a great job selling both the intensity and the fun.
The film stars Alan Ritchson as Hank Malone, a former soldier who suddenly finds himself in the middle of a life-or-death mission. After taking on what should've been a straightforward medical delivery, Hank becomes the primary target of a ruthless cartel determined to stop him before he reaches his destination.
His cargo isn't money or secret documents. It's a liver desperately needed to save a young girl. To make matters even more intense, Hank has just three hours to transport the organ from Brisbane to the Gold Coast while enemies seem to be waiting around every corner.
Along for the ride is Owen Wilson as Ben Bishop, and the latest trailer makes it clear that their chemistry is one of the movie's biggest strengths. Their back-and-forth adds plenty of humor without taking away from the high-stakes chase.
This final trailer also gives audiences a better look at the action, showing off shootouts, car chases, explosions, and a healthy dose of comedic chaos. It even introduces a bird that's somehow part of the adventure.
The supporting cast includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, Sullivan Stapleton, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, and Goran D. Kleut.
The film was directed by Scott Waugh, whose previous credits include Act of Valor, Need for Speed, 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain, Hidden Strike, and The Expendables 4. The screenplay comes from Miles Hubley and Tommy White.
Runner was filmed on location in Australia last year, and the beautiful scenery looks like it will provide an impressive backdrop for all of the film's high-speed action.
There have already been a couple of solid trailers leading up to the release, but this final look does the best job yet of balancing the movie's action with its comedy.
Between Ritchson's physical presence, Wilson's laid-back charm, relentless cartel pursuit, and an unexpectedly memorable bird joining the adventure, Runner looks like a great action comedy!
Runner arrives in U.S. theaters on September 11, 2026.
