Director James Wan thinks that audiences are starving for something new and different, and he is hoping to deliver that with his upcoming horror movie, Malignant. The final trailer for the movie has been released today, and this movie is sure to deliver the nightmarish thrills that we expect to see from Wan’s horror films.

I’m excited about this movie! I love that Wan went back to his roots for this one and that he has created an original story. He’s also looking to do something different with this movie that he hasn’t done before. Wan is one of my favorite filmmakers making movies today and I can’t wait to see what he gives us with this one!

In the movie, “Every kill brings him closer to you… Malignant is the latest creation from Conjuring universe architect James Wan. In the movie, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.”

When previously talking about the movie, Wan explained that the movie is a blend of several genres, “It's horror, but it's also a traditional thriller. It's psychological, it's serial killer, but it's also potentially a monster movie. My goal was to create a villain that you're not quite sure what it is. Is he a demon? Is he just a human serial killer or someone's figment of someone's imagination? Is he an imaginary friend that has come to life? It could be any of those things. And I think that's part of the fun with the film is trying to work out what the hell this thing is.”

The movie stars Annabelle Wallis as Madison, Jake Abel, George Young, Jacqueline McKenzie, Mckenna Grace, Maddie Hasson, Ingrid Bisu, and Michole Briana White.

Malignant was written by Akela Cooper, from a story by James Wan and Ingrid Bisu and Akela Cooper. Warner Bros will release the film in theaters nationwide and streaming on HBO Max on September 10th, 2021.
