Final Trailer for JOKER: FOLIE Á DEUX - "The Whole World Is Watching"
Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for Joker: Folie À Deux as tickets for the film go on sale. We also have a new poster to share with you.
The movie recently premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, and it was met with mixed reviews. One of them says it’s a “Messy, lifeless, derivative and exactly what you’d expect from a film that simply doesn’t want, or need, to exist.” Another says that it’s “Remarkably honest and true to itself.”
In the film, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him.
Arthur forms a strong relationship with Quinn (Lady Gaga) and together they embark on a journey filled with violence and music, because this movie is a musical.
Director Todd Phillips talked about the music aspect of the film, explaining: “Arthur has music in him. That was a logical leaping-off point for the sequel.” It was also said that the music within Arthur is “messy and chaotic,” and it “expresses the complexity of love in a way that brings Arthur to life.”
The music is also performed raw and not the “most beautiful renditions of the songs.” Phoenix says that there was something very exciting about that.”
The movie also stars Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Brendan Gleeson who will be playing undisclosed characters.
Joker: Folie á Deux is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024.
