Final Trailer for Martin Scorsese's KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON
Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for Martin Scorsese’s highly-anticipated film Killers of the Flower Moon. The trailer features a good amount of new footage offering additional insight into certain elements of the story and characters. The trailer also features quotes from reviews praising the film for the greatness that it delivers.
Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the film as Ernest Burkhart, and people are saying that this is the best performance of his entire career. That’s saying something because he’s delivered a lot of great performances. DiCaprio is joined by Lily Gladstone as Mollie Burkhart, an Osage married to Ernest, who is the nephew of a powerful local rancher, played by Robert De Niro. Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) and Jesse Plemons (Antlers) also star in the movie. Gladstone has also been getting a lot of praise for her performance in the movie.
The film is based on David Grann’s book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, and the story is set in 1920s Oklahoma. It depicts the serial murders of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. Here’s a description of the story:
At the end of the nineteenth century, the Osage Indians were driven onto a presumed worthless expanse of land in northeastern Oklahoma. But their territory turned out to be atop one of the largest oil deposits in the United States; to obtain that oil, prospectors were required to pay the tribe for leases and royalties. By the 1920s, the members of Osage Nation had become the wealthiest people per capita in the world. And then the Osage began to die under mysterious circumstances.
The movie will get a limited theatrical release on October 6th, 2023, with a wide theatrical release that will follow on October 20, 2023. I can’t wait to watch this movie.
