Final Trailer for the Mickey Mouse-Inspired Horror Film THE MOUSE TRAP
Here’s the final trailer for the upcoming Mickey Mouse-inspired horror film The Mouse Trap, which is one of the first films that was produced after the classic Disney character entered the public domain.
The film sees a killer dressed up as Steamboat Willie’s version of Mickey Mouse running around an amusement park killing people.
In Mickey’s Mouse Trap, “It’s Alex’s 21st birthday, but she’s stuck at the amusement arcade on a late shift so her friends decide to surprise her, but a masked killer dressed as Mickey Mouse decides to play a game of his own with them which she must survive.”
The movie was directed by Jamie Bailey who said: “We just wanted to have fun with it all. I mean it’s Steamboat Willie‘s Mickey Mouse murdering people. It’s ridiculous. We ran with it and had fun doing it and I think it shows.”
He also said: “We’re actually big fans of Disney fans in general—not just Disney reimagined into horror movies or something like that... so this is just our opportunity to be playful and creative with the character. And that’s exactly what we did. We had a ridiculous idea and we made it. Who doesn’t want to see Mickey Mouse killing people?”
Regardless of what he says: This is just a stupid quick little cash grab of a film as they take Mickey Mouse and turn him into a sadistic killer.
The movie stars Sophie McIntosh, Callum Sywyk, Allegra Nocita, Ben Harris, Damir Kovic, Mackenzie Mills, Nick Biskupek and Simon Phillips.
