Final Trailer Released For The Great Looking DC Mob Film THE KITCHEN
Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for their awesome-looking DC Vertigo crime thriller The Kitchen. I really like what I’ve seen from this movie so far and this new trailer offers up some great additional footage and plot details.
The movie stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss as the wives of Irish mobsters who end up taking over organized crime operations in the 1970s in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood after the FBI arrests their husbands.
McCarthy takes on the role of Kathy Brennan, “a devoted mother of two whose initial reluctance to enter the criminal domain is eventually diminished by her deft abilities.”
Haddish plays Ruby O'Carroll, “an outsider in an Irish community who seeks self-sufficiency once her husband is not around to protect her.”
Then there’s Moss as Claire Walsh, who is “a timid wife of an abusive husband who falls in love with the violence of her new life.” I think her character is going to steal the show! She goes off the chain!
The Kitchen also stars Domnhall Gleeson as Gabriel O'Malley, ”an intense Vietnam vet who worked for the neighborhood gangsters as a hitman before skipping town to avoid the police. He returns to settle scores when the wives take over and ends up falling for Claire.” Common plays an FBI Agent, and Bill Camp takes on the role of "the boss of a Brooklyn Italian crime family.”
The movie was directed by Andrea Berloff and I’m looking forward to checking it out! The Kitchen will arrive in theaters on August 9th.
