Final US Trailer for Musical ANNETTE Starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard
A final US trailer has been released for the musical film Annette starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard. They are joined in the cast by Simon Helberg. The film was directed by French filmmaker Leos Carax, from a script written by Ron Mael & Russell Mael, also known as the band Sparks, based on Carax's original idea.
Here’s the synopsis:
Set in contemporary Los Angeles, Annette tells the story of Henry, a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humor (Adam Driver) and Ann (Marion Cotillard), a singer of international renown. In the spotlight, they are the perfect couple, healthy, happy, and glamourous. The birth of their first child, Annette, a mysterious girl with an exceptional destiny, will change their lives.
The film premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival over the summer to a standing ovation as the opening night film, and opened in theaters in France on the same day (July 6th). Amazon Studios will debut the film in select US theaters, later on Prime Video, starting August 20th.
I’m still undecided as to what I think about this movie. It’s extremely artsy, and that baby looks fake and weird. But it could end up being really good. What do you think? Check out the trailer below, and let us know.
