Finn Jones Wants the Chance to Play Iron Fist Again and "Prove all Those Motherf***ers Wrong"

The casting of Finn Jones as Iron Fist never really clicked with fans. He seemed completely miscast in the role and he just didn’t have what it took to properly play this character. The actor didn’t even really know how to fight properly and the fight scenes in the film are some of the worst we’ve ever seen in a Marvel production.

In fact, the stunt coordinator on Iron Fist said that Finn Jones didn't even want to train for his fight scenes! He said: "Everyone's fighting and the actor doesn't want to train and...'Guys, throw me a bone. Give me something to work with here.' That's probably why the best sequences were with Jessica Henwick because she trained four hours a day and she had zero martial arts experience."

When Jones was initially cast in the role, a lot of fans unleashed their outrage online, and at the time Jones called fans out saying they were being "unjust" and "unfair" and told them, "Don't get angry and start a mob when you don't even — you haven't even seen the show!"

When Iron Fist finally did premiere, the Marvel fans didn’t really care for it and there was a lot of negativity. The show's first season even has a 20% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A lot of fans believe the series would have been a lot better with another actor in the lead role of Danny Rand.

Well, regardless of how fans feel, Finn Jones would love the opportunity to play Iron Fist again saying he wants to “prove all those motherfuckers wrong.” During an interview with Geekscape, Jones was asked if he'd want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Fist, and this was his response:

"I'd love another chance. I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there's a lot of work to be done. There's something about the underdog, y'know? I love the underdog narrative. I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherfuckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible."

Yeah, he had his chance, and it didn’t work out. If he cares so deeply about the character he should make sure that it goes to an actor that can actually bring the character to life properly because Jones already proved that he wasn’t right for the role.

I don’t know, maybe I’m being too harsh? Jones goes on to defend the work of actors and filmmakers who are "trying to manifest something positive" against negativity, saying: "What people need to realize is that we're all well-intentioned people that are trying to create art in the world. The level of hate that gets poured onto artists and creatives if it maybe doesn't turn out in the direction that they'd hoped — it's like they've just created genocide, you know?"

In the end, a lot of fans feel that Jones just wasn’t the right actor for the role of Danny Rand. It’s done now, though, and I don’t think he’s going to get that chance to play Iron Fist again. But, I’ll watch Jessica Henwick play Colleen Wing all day! She was awesome!

What do you think about Jones wanting to play Iron Fist again?
