Fired X-MEN '97 Showrunner Says He Was "Removed" From BLADE After Sharing Concerns About Prejudicial Conditions
Fired X-Men ‘97 showrunner Beau DeMayo is on full offense right now when dealing with Marvel Studios and sharing his side of the story.
He recently slammed the studio for its toxic work environment and criminal working conditions. He also said that all the claims they made against him and the rumors going around online were false. He’s also going to court over the NDA he signed with Marvel.
DeMayo also talked about his time working on the Blade movie and shared why he believes he was ultimately “removed” from the project.
DeMayo was hired to do a rewrite of the script for Blade and he alleges that Marvel executives joked in front of him that they'd hired "a young Wesley Snipes" to write the movie.
He responded to that in his OnlyFans video, saying: "One of the reasons I wanted to do this video is so that you can see that Wesley Snipes and I look nothing alike."
He added that "the last straw" for him was when he showed up at the production offer for Blade, where he was told "someone needed to crack the whip around here."
DeMayo goes on to say that when he shared concerns about the prejudicial conditions on Blade with Marvel Studios, he was “removed from the project in the middle of moving to Atlanta for production, and then had my role on Season 2 of 'X Men '97' aggressively marginalized."
He says that he has "the receipts and eyewitnesses" to back up these claims.
Marvel has not responded to any of these claims that DeMayo is making, but it’s safe to say that their lawyers are preparing to go to war with him.
We’re just going to have to see how all of this plays out.
