Fantastic First Footage Shared For MARVEL'S WHAT IF...? Animated Series
Disney+ officially launched today in North America and with it came a special look showing off the next era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a featurette called Expanding the Universe and it offers us our first footage from the highly anticipated animated series, Marvel’s What If…?, an animated anthology series where The Watcher looks at instances of where the MCU could have gone in a completely different direction.
The 23-episode series will include most of the MCU cast reprising their roles in the series, which will examine the 23 past films in the MCU, but each of the stories will feature one key difference showing how the story would have played out differently. The Watcher will be voiced by Jeffrey Wright.
The footage features T'Challa As Star-Lord; Zombie Captain America attacking Bucky Barnes; Peggy Carter as Captain Carter, Little Steve Rogers wearing WWII tank-style mech armor and Captain Carter riding on the back of the suit as it’s flying around. There’s also a shot of The Watcher. Check out the clips below!

The voice cast includes Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Taika Waititi as Korg, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Michael Rooker as Yondu.
The series is going to be available to watch on Disney+ in 2021.
