First Bone-Breaking Clip From SAW X Features "The Eye Trap"
“I’d like to play a game. Perhaps one that addresses those ‘sticky’ fingers of yours.” The first clip for Saw X has been released and it introduces us to “The Eye Trap” and it’s a pretty sinister contraption.
In the clip, a man wakes up strapped to a chair, and there is a device strapped around his eyes and he’s got some other mechanics strapped up to his fingers. This man is a hospital custodian and Jigsaw offers him 60 seconds to complete this “game” or he’ll lose his eyesight.
It looks like the thing is going to suck the man’s eyes right out of his head! To save himself, he has to turn a dial with his other hand. When he does that, the fingers on his other hand are snapped back and broken. It looks pretty damn painful. Check it out… if you’re looking for something to make you cringe.
This movie is set between the events of Saw I and II, and it follows “a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.”
The goal for the movie is to deliver a film that “captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.”
The cast for Saw X also includes Tobin Bell as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (Control-Z), Octavio Hinojosa (Come Play With Me), Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman) and Michael Beach (Dahmer).
Franchise director Kevin Greutert, who worked on Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, is helming the project.
Lionsgate will now release Saw X in theaters on September 29, 2023! Enjoy the trailer!
