First BTS Look at Orville Peck as Vega in The STREET FIGHTER Movie

The live-action Street Fighter reboot is shaping up to be something special, and fans just got their first glimpse of Orville Peck as the iconic villain Vega. The new behind-the-scenes image was shared on Callina Liang’s Instagram Story and reshared by Peck himself, giving us our best look yet at the character’s transformation from the arcade to the big screen.

In the image, Peck is sporting Vega’s signature long blonde hair and snake tattoo. The character’s signature mask is visible too, though it’s unclear if it will be part of the final look. Introduced in Street Fighter II back in 1991, Vega was one of the franchise's original four bosses.

Known as the “Spanish Ninja,” he’s a deadly, vain assassin who works under the evil M. Bison. In the upcoming movie, that role is being played by David Dastmalchian.

One of the most talked-about casting choices is Cody Rhodes, WWE’s Undisputed Champion, who is playing Guile. A teaser image previously showed off his silhouette and nailed the character’s classic design. There are also reports that Jason Momoa is portraying Blanka and Roman Reigns is taking on the role of Akuma, the fierce fighter responsible for killing Ryu and Ken’s master, Gouken.

While Street Fighter has had its ups and downs in live-action, most notably the cult-favorite 1994 movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and the less-loved 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, this reboot is aiming high.

It’s now being directed by Kitao Sakurai, known for his work on The Eric Andre Show. Sakurai stepped in after Danny and Michael Philippou exited the project and is bringing a fresh vision to the film. He’s also directing episodes of Amazon’s upcoming Butterfly and Peacock’s Twisted Metal.

Plot details are still under wraps, but with a cast this stacked and behind-the-scenes images finally rolling out, excitement is ramping up. The Street Fighter franchise is a titan in the fighting game world and fans are hoping this new movie finally does it justice.
