Haunting New Trailer for SILENT HILL: ASCENSION Interactive Experience

A trailer has just dropped for another Silent Hill project titled Silent Hill: Ascension. This is an interactive experience that comes from Genvid Entertainment and Konami Digital Entertainment. As a longtime fan of this horror franchise, I’ve been curious about this and looking forward to checking it out.

Ascension will "follow the complex lives of two families in peril, linked by unnerving visions and terrifying monstrosities that hound them to the brink of damnation."

The trailer introduces us to a character named Astrid Johansen, who is accused of killing her son. This is definitely going to be another dark story. Johansen denies the accusation, but we’ll just have to wait and see how the story will unfold.

The story focuses on the Hernandez family in Pennsylvania and the Johansen family in Norway. It’s also been teased that there's also a cult involved with the story. When it comes to the two families, it’s explained that "survival depends on them overcoming their darkest impulses." In the experience, the viewer actually has an impact on the characters, and if they can overcome those dark impulses.

Genvid CEO Jacob Navok talked up Silent Hill: Ascension, and says that he even he doesn't even know how the series will end. "There has never been an experience like Silent Hill: Ascension before," said Navok. "It's not a game but an interactive streaming series that will change as the audience makes decisions together. While I'm Executive Producing the title, I don't know how it will end. That is in your hands. And the content you make will be streamed worldwide on televisions and phones, through our relationships with Sony Pictures, Google, Apple, and others. Participating in Silent Hill: Ascension each day means you'll be part of history that will never come again."

The first episode of Silent Hill: Ascension will be available October, 31st at 6pm PT. Viewers can watch it live and participate on the Silent Hill: Ascension app (through the App Store or Google Play).
