First Footage From COBRA KAI Season 3, Which Is Coming to Netflix in 2021

Netflix has released a trailer for the fantastic series Cobra Kai titled “The Karate Kid Legacy Continues.” It was released in anticipation of the first two seasons of Cobra Kai coming to Netflix on August 28th.

The video recaps the first two seasons of the show, and it also offers us our first interesting footage from Season 3. That footage teases Daniel in Okinawa and a new character that he finds himself facing off with, a secret that Mr. Miyagi kept from Daniel. I have no idea who it is, but maybe Mr. Miyagi had a son?!

It was also revealed that Cobra Kai Season 3 won’t be released until 2021, so we still have to wait a bit. The first two seasons of this series were great, and I’m ready to see the story continue!

The Cobra Kai series is written and executive produced by Josh HealdJon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. The series picks up “34 years after events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, [when] a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now-successful Daniel LaRusso.”

It was previously teased by Hurwitz that the third season would be the biggest one yet. When asked about what they could reveal regarding the next season, it was said that it would be heading to Okinawa. Schlossberg went on to say:

“In this series, we get to re-explore these movies within the light of modern storytelling and where we are in our own lives now. So we love the idea of going back to Okinawa as...it continues the general theme of being able to look at the past in a completely different light as adults. One of the fun things about the show is we’re so ingrained with these memories. I mean, not everybody has seen The Karate Kid but a lot of people have seen it. And for us and a whole generation of people, these are images and moments and movies that are ingrained in our lives and in our past. And so we can write stories where characters are reflecting on their own lives and you as the audience are really connected because you remember those experiences. And I think people have had those moments in the first two seasons of Cobra Kai and Okinawa really allows for even more of that. So we’re excited for people to see that. It’s continuing what we love about this show.”

Ralph Macchio is back as Daniel LaRusso, and William Zabka plays Johnny Lawrence, Martin Kove will kick ass as John Kreese, and the series younger stars Xolo Maridueña, Courtney Henggeler, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Nicole Brown, and Jacob Bertrand are all set to return.

I just hope that we get to see the return of Elisabeth Shue in Season 3! Anyway, check out the trailer below and tell us what you think! What do you think Mr. Miyagi’s secret is? Who is this new character?

Two dojos. One epic rivalry. The Cobra Kai legacy continues only on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 strike back August 28th. Season 3 enters the tournament in 2021....
