First Footage of John Krasinski as JACK RYAN in Promo Spot For Amazon's New Series
A new promo spot has been released for Amazon's new series Jack Ryan, based on the character and book series created by Tom Clancy. I've always been a fan of the Jack Ryan character. He's a complete badass and I think John Krasinski is a great choice to take him on. If you don't think Krasinski, who is best known for his role as Jim on The Office, could be right for this part, go watch the Michael Bay film 13 Hours. That's the movie that sold me on him playing Jack Ryan. The new promo shows him start the interrogation of a suspect that was pulled off on the streets by his team.
The new series was created by Carlton Cuse, who previously brought us shows such as Lost, Bates Motel, and The Strain. The new series in not an adaptation of the books. It will be a reinvention to give us a "new contemporary take on the character in his prime as a CIA analyst/operative using the novels as source material." Here's the synopsis:
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. Ryan (Krasinski) uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
I'm looking forward to this series and seeing Krasinski take on the role of this iconic character that was previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine.
There's a full trailer that will be released on October 7th during NYCC. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime in 2018.
