Trailer for Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke's Sexy Gay Western STRANGE WAY OF LIFE
A full trailer and poster have been released for writer and director Pedro Almodóvar’s sexy gay Western, Strange Way of Life. The film stars Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke in the lead roles, and they are joined by Manu Ríos, Jason Fernández, José Condessa, Pedro Casablanc, Daniel Rived, and Erenice Lohan.
Here’s the synopsis:
A man rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake. 25 years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva, the rancher who rides out to meet him, worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting, but the next morning Sheriff Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship…
The trailer definitely has an interesting style to it. It feels very true to the filmmaker, with a flare of old school Western, met up with a story that could only be told today. Check out the trailer and posters below. Strange Way of Life will be premiering at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival this summer, with a release in Spain in May, and a US release date not yet set.
