First Image For GAME OF THRONES Season 8 Which Will Be an "Emotional Haunting" Finale
Thanks to the cover of EW, we have our first look at Game of Thrones Season 8. As you can see, it features Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) all bundled up and embracing each other.
We have no idea what to expect from this final chapter of the story, but we know that it will bring us the biggest most epic battle in the series yet as several characters and armies will unite to face a common enemy.
While talking to the outlet about the upcoming season, producer Bryan Cogman teased that it’s going to be a emotional and hunting finale:
“It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death. It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head.”
Harrington and Clarke have been shooting the final season for the past 10 months and it will consist of only six episodes. They are making sure those final episodes are the best that they can possibly be. Harrington talks about shooting the series saying:
“It’s relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot. They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options.”
Clarke adds:
[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense.”
This is exciting! I hate that we have to wait until next year to see the series come to a close, but it sounds like it’s going to be worth it!
