First Impressions: Ryu and Chun-Li in POWER RANGERS: BATTLE FOR THE GRID are Fun

Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter have officially entered Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. I’ve been playing around with them and thought I’d share my impressions of them with everyone. Thank you to nWay for supplying me with a code to add them to the game on Nintendo Switch. You can play Battle for the Grid on Switch, PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One and add Ryu and Chun-Li with either the Street Fighter Pack or the Super Edition of the game.

Are these two characters that I would’ve added if I were in charge? Probably not. Are they fun to have in the game? Totally. These are classic Street Fighter characters who already have a story of joining the Power Rangers universe thanks to Power Rangers Legacy Wars and the fun video that I’ve shared below. I really enjoy that the additional skins help feed into the narrative that Ryu and Chun-Li graduated from Angel Grove High. It’s just a fun little thing.

How do the characters perform? If you’ve played Street Fighter, you pretty much know how these characters work. They don’t have 100% of the moves, but the ones that they did bring with them have the same inputs. They also have 1 or 2 new moves thanks to their Ranger powers. It’s very fun to play with these characters and I’m grateful that their move inputs were kept in tact as it provides a very welcome familiarity with the characters from the start. Have you enjoyed bringing these renowned fighters into your game?
