First Look at Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst in the Frontier-Set Film THE POWER OF THE DOG
Netflix has released a collection of first look photos for the upcoming 1920s set frontier movie The Power of the Dog. The movie comes from director Jane Campion and stars Kirsten Dunst, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Savage, and the story is set on “a Montana cattle ranch in the '20s where a young widow (Dunst) and her son (Smit-McPhee) come to live with her new husband, George (Plemons). However, things are complicated by the presence of George's brother Phil (Cumberbatch) and his erratic, potentially violent behavior.”
I like watching frontier-set western movies, and with this kind of cast, The Power of the Dog could be a great film. It will arrive on Netflix on December 1st.
