First Look at Christian Bale's Period Horror Thriller THE PALE BLUE EYE
Christian Bale is set to star in a new period horror film set up at Netflix titled The Pale Blue Eye and today we have some photos to share that give us a first look at the movie thanks to Variety.
Bale plays a detective in the story that is “investigating a series of murders at an 1830 military academy, helped by a young man later known as Edgar Allan Poe." I love that Poe is a part of this story and he will be played by Harry Potter and The Queens Gambit actor Harry Melling, which is wonderful casting! He’s a good actor!
The Pale Blue Eye is directed by Scott Cooper (Hostiles, Out of the Furnace, Antlers) and it also has an all-star cast that includes Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Timothy Spall, Hadley Robinson, Joey Brooks, Brennan Cook, Gideon Glick, Fred Hechinger, Matt Helm, Steven Maier, Charlie Tahan, and Robert Duvall.
Cooper has been wanting to make this film for more than a decade. It’s a passion project and it’s an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Louis Bayard. This will mark the third collaboration between Cooper and Bale, who also made Out of the Furnace and Hostiles together.
The Pale Blue Eye comes to select theaters on December 23, 2022, while the film will begin streaming on Netflix on January 6, 2023.
