First Look at Djimon Hounsou's Character The Fisherman King in AQUAMAN
While we wait for the first trailer for Aquaman to be released during Comic-Con next week, here's our first look at Djimon Hounsou's character in the film, The Fisherman King, who is one of the seven Kings of Atlantis. I've gotta say, that a pretty badass character design!
The seven Kings of Atlantis meet with Orm (Patrick Wilson) in the story when he shares his proposal to declare war on the surface world. When talking about The Fisherman King's people, producer Peter Safran tells EW:
"After the fall of Atlantis, some of the kingdoms evolved and some devolved,” explains . “This is one that evolved. This is a kingdom that’s primarily artistic and cerebral, with poets and philosophers."
The photo also includes Fisherman Queen (Natalia Safran), Princess (Sophia Forrest) and a royal guard.
The film stars Jason Momoa and he will be joined by Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison (Green Lantern) as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down) as Black Manta; Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Murk; with Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. Here's the synopsis:
Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.
Aquaman is set to be released December 21, 2018.
