First Look at Edgar Wright's Psychological Thriller LAST NIGHT IN SOHO
Director Edgar Wright has shared a photo giving us a first look at his upcoming psychological horror-thriller Last Night in Solo. We don’t know much about the film, but we do know that it’s set in London’s Soho district and will also take place in the 1960s and modern day.
The photo features actress Thomasin McKenzie, one of two female leads in the film, and she looks absolutely horrified by something. The photo also comes with the announcement that the film has wrapped production.
The movie also stars Anya Taylor-Joy (Split), who will play a character in the 1960s set part of the film. McKenzie, is said to star in the modern-day scenes as a fashion student. We don’t know how these characters are connected or what the reason is behind the story being set in two different time periods.
When previously talking about the film, Wright described the film as being in the vein of Donald Sutherland’s 1973 film Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s 1965 movie Repulsion. He also went on to say:
“I realized I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
The film also has a great supporting cast that includes Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham.
As for the release date, Last Night in Soho will hit theaters on September 25, 2020.
