First Look at Elizabeth Olsen in HBO Max's True Crime Drama LOVE AND DEATH
HBO Max has shared two photos from its upcoming true crime drama Love and Death, which is currently in production in Texas. The photos offer a first look at Elizabeth Olsen in the role of churchgoing suburban housewife-turned-killer, Candy Montgomery.
The series is inspired by the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death in Silicon Prairie, Part I & II”).
The story follows “two church-going couples, enjoying small-town family life in Texas (or, at least they do until somebody picks up an axe). The series is based on the true story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery, who murdered her friend from church, Betty Gore, with an axe in 1980.”
The limited series also stars Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore, Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, Krysten Ritter as Sherry Cleckler, Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery, Keir Gilchrist as Pastor Ron Adams, Elizabeth Marvel as Pastor Jackie Ponder, and Tom Pelphrey as Don Crowder.
Love and Death is being written and executive produced by David E. Kelley with Lesli Linka Glatter (Mad Men) set to direct. Executive producers are Glatter, Nicole Kidman, and Per Saari through Blossom Films, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick, and Helen Verno. Lionsgate will produce the limited series.
