First Look at Ezra Miller's FANTASTIC BEASTS Character

Ezra Miller is now probably best known around these parts for his role as The Flash in the DC Extended Universe, but he's about to get a big boost in name recognition by appearing in this year's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. EW has our first look at his mysterious character and a ton of new information about him, starting with his name: Credence Barebone.

His character is the adopted middle child of Samantha Morton's Mary Lou Barebone, a woman who leads a radical organization called the New Salem Philanthropic Society "that wants to expose and kill wizards and witches by bringing about another Salem Witch Trials." In the first look photo above, we see Credence standing alongside Colin Farrell's Percival Graves in an alley advertising the organization's goals.

We’re told that he “appears withdrawn, extremely shy and far more vulnerable than his two sisters. Credence is defenseless against the abuse that comes in response to the slightest infraction of Mary Lou’s strict rules. But his loneliness also makes him susceptible to the manipulation of Percival Graves (Colin Farrell), who has taken a personal interest in Credence.” Graves is a powerful guy, an auror and the Director of Magical Security in the American wizarding government.

Sounds like Credence could certainly use some help, but it remains to be seen exactly how his path will cross with Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander in the film.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters on November 18, 2016.
