First Look at Giancarlo Esposito's MCU Character and Other Details Revealed
Giancarlo Esposito recently teased his upcoming MCU character saying that fans won’t guess who he’s playing, and he also revealed that he will be getting his own series.
He didn’t offer any details on who he’s playing, but thanks to a new set photos and crude drawing, we now have a first look at the character and details regarding the film he’ll show up in and things we can expect from his character.
I’m going to throw up a SPOILER WARNING just in case you don’t want to know any other info beyond that.
The photo came from the set of Captain America: Brave New World, which has recently gone through another round of reshoots and the photo is of Esposito’s stand in, but he is wearing the costume.
Esposito is described as an "antagonist agent of chaos" and the character is wearing tactical gear. There’s also a hilarious sketch of Esposito's character in his full costume.
The character is ready for a fight, and he has three guns, three knives, and, of course, an axe. He is also said to sport a black cape with brown lining, and "look like Blade with bluish hair."
Esposito has said in the past that he is playing an original character, and judging from this new info, he is obviously some kind of mercenary who’s on a mission to down Sam Wilson and his allies.
Some fans are speculating that he’s playing a villain from the comics named Machete.
We’ll know soon enough who he is playing when the movie is released on February 14, 2025.
In the film, Anthony Mackie is back in the role of Sam Wilson, who is now Captain America. The movie also stars Liv Tyler, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, Danny Ramirez, and Carl Lumbly.
Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is directing the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
