First Look at John Turturro as Jesus in His BIG LEBOWSKI Spin-Off Film GOING PLACES
Well, it looks like John Turturro really is reprising his role as Jesus Quintana in an upcoming spin-off of The Big Lebowski. A photo from the set of the film has surfaced online, and there’s no doubt you’ll recognize his look, minus the purple outfit. You can see it below.
The movie is called Going Places, and it's remake of the 1974 French film Les Valseuses, only it centers around Turturro’s Jesus character. That’s the only direct connection that this film has with The Big Lebowski. Joel and Ethan Coen are not involved with the project, and don’t expect to see any other characters from that the classic film in this one.
The movie also stars Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, and Susan Sarandon, and the story follows “two petty thieves, Turturro’s Jesus and Cannavale’s Petey, compete to give a woman (Tautou) her first orgasm after she’s roped into their hijinks. Sarandon also ends up in their company, playing a criminal who just got out after a long stint in prison.”
When I first heard that Turturro was developing a Big Lebowski sequel/spin-off, I never thought it would actually happen, but here it is! There’s no doubt that it’s going to be a strange, humorous, and offbeat film, and I’m excited about seeing how it turns out.
