Some photos from the set of Disney’s upcoming film Peter Pan & Wendy have surfaced online and they give us our first look at Jude Law as Captain Hook.

Law’s version of Hook has been described as, "an unhinged, dramatic, and menacing swordsman, who is out to seek revenge on Peter Pan for cutting his hand off and feeding it to a crocodile. When Hook takes Wendy’s brothers John and Michael hostage he uses them as bait to lure Peter Pan.”

Law is joined by Ever Anderson as Wendy, Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, and Yara Shahidi is playing Tinker Bell in the movie. It also stars Molly Parker as Mrs. Darling, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Darling, Joshua Pickering as John, Jacobi Jupe as Michael, Alyssa Wapanatank as Tiger Lily, and Jim Gaffigan as Smee.

The film is being helmed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, and The Old Man & The Gun) from a script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks.

Based on J. M. Barrie’s novel Peter and Wendy and inspired by the 1953 animated classic, Peter Pan & Wendy is the timeless tale of a young girl who, defying her parents’ wishes to attend boarding school, travels with her two younger brothers to the magical Neverland. There, she meets a boy who refuses to grow up, a tiny fairy and an evil pirate captain, and they soon find themselves on a thrilling and dangerous adventure far, far away from their family and the comforts of home.

The director of the movie said in a statement:

“Peter Pan has long been one of my favorite stories, partially because I’ve always resisted growing up, but also because of the heart, adventure and imagination that makes J.M. Barrie’s original tale so evergreen. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to redefine his iconic characters for a new generation - and even more excited that I get to do so with such an exceptional cast and crew.”

Disney plans on releasing this film theatrically, but no date has been set. What do you all think about Law’s look as Captain Hook?
