It was a pretty awesome surprise to see a young version of Luke Skywalker back in action during the season finale of The Manadlaorian Season 2. We’ve never really seen the character wield The Force in such an awesome way before as he completely tears through an army of Dark Troopers.

Later this month, Disney+ is premiering a behind-the-scenes look special that explores the making of "Chapter 16: The Rescue," revealing how the Lucasfilm VFX team digitally de-aged and recreated a younger Luke.

Thanks to a new “Next on Disney+” trailer, we get a look at that special and it offers a first look at Mark Hamill all decked out in costume on the set of the series and he’s holding Grogu. R2-D2 is also with him.

When previously talking about bringing Luke Skywalker back for the series, Favreau said, "It was very tricky because it's very hard to keep a secret nowadays, especially with Star Wars, because people are so curious about it. There are so many people involved with the process, with visual effects finishing, making it, filming it, the studios, everything."

Luckily they managed to keep it a secret, but that didn’t keep fans from speculating that he was going to show up! Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian: Making of the Season 2 Finale is set to premiere on August 25 on Disney+.
