First Look at Marvel's HAN SOLO Comic Series
Attention Star Wars and Marvel fans! After already seeing three comic series based on some of our favorite Star Wars characters — Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and Lando — Marvel is now going to release yet another five-issue comic book miniseries. The newest one will focus on Han Solo. The story takes place between the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
"This is a Han Solo who doesn't quite know who he is anymore. He doesn't think about politics, and suddenly he's thrust into this life-or-death struggle for beliefs he didn't even know he cared about - and it has changed him. He doesn't want to believe that change, but he has. Han's been dreaming of entering this thing for his entire life. He finally gets the chance, except there's a catch: Leia thinks there are spies in the Rebellion, and she doesn't dare send anyone else to retrieve these vital informants who are on various planets in the system."
A never before seen species of aliens will be introduced to the Star Wars universe too. They will be represented by a brand new character named Loo Re Anno. She is known to be a legendary pilot who is really interested in Han Solo. The reason? She sees in Solo a younger version of herself.
"She's never lost a race, she's part of a dying species," said Liu. "She might be the last of her kind, these aliens that don't really have a home planet. They're nomads. In fact, her people actually founded the Dragon Void Run thousands of years ago. She feels like this is going to be perhaps her last race for good, so she's in this thing and she's dignified and everyone's a bit in awe of her.”
Written by Marjorie Liu (Astonishing X-Men; Monstress), and illustrated by Mark Brooks (Cable; Deadpool), the limited series about this iconic character will be available in June.
