First Look at Milly Alcock as Supergirl Leaks Online

It’s not exactly a shocker that Milly Alcock’s Supergirl shows up in James Gunn’s Superman as it was already confirmed, and with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow on the horizon, it makes complete sense that she’s show up in the film.

Spoilers ahead!

But now, thanks to a newly leaked images, we’ve got a full look at Alcock suited up as Kara Zor-El, and she’s rocking a very interesting and unexpected vibe that’s less “shiny cape” and more “cosmic punk.”

There’s no mistaking that Supergirl is on a rebellious streak when we first meet her. With Cruella director Craig Gillespie steering the standalone Supergirl film, it makes perfect sense that this take on Kara leans into grit and style rather than squeaky-clean heroics.

Her cameo in Superman is minor but memorable. In it, she shows up drunk at the Fortress of Solitude, not to fight, but to pick up her dog, Krypto, which Superman has been watching for her. There’s an irreverent energy there, which is par for the course for Gunn.

James Gunn recently opened up about how Supergirl differs from her more hopeful cousin: "[Flashbacks to Krypton are] always a possibility. But I think those things are really integral to the two characters and the differences between them, and that Clark really does have sort of this really happy childhood.

“I mean, he had parents who loved him in an easy-going upbringing, and it makes him the least dysfunctional of superheroes in so many ways.

"Supergirl, especially the DCU Supergirl, she's kind of a mess. I mean, she's had real issues growing up, and it is based on the comic where she watched person after person after person dying in front of her as her piece of the planet disintegrated."

It’s clear that this Supergirl isn’t here to smile politely and follow orders. She’s carrying trauma, attitude, and a hangover, all of which makes her a far more unpredictable presence in the DCU.
