First Look at Mr. Knight From Marvel's MOON KNIGHT Series

Thanks to Empire, we have a first look at Mr. Knight for Marvel’s upcoming film Moon Knight. This character is a persona of Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. When talking about the upcoming series and the main character, Kevin Feige said:

"He's brutal, It's been fun to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries shifting on what we're able to do. There are moments [in the series] when Moon Knight is wailing on another character, and it is loud and brutal, and the knee-jerk reaction is, 'We're gonna pull back on this, right?' No. We're not pulling back. There's a tonal shift. This is a different thing. This is Moon Knight."

I like the sound of that! The image was shared on Twitter by comics artist Declan Shalvey, who designed this version of Moon Knight for his run on Marvel's Moon Knight comic with writer Warren Ellis. The image came with the following note:

"Hello Mr. Knight…Seriously, this is NUTS. I drew something out of my brain, and now it's a real thing in a TV show…? Such a surreal feeling… I can't quite describe it. #MoonKnight #MrKnight"

I can only imagine how cool that must be for Shalvey to see. The show is described as "A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt."

The synopsis goes on to say that the story follows Steven Grant, “a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc's enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”

The series also stars Ethan Hawke as the main villain, a cult leader named Arthur Harrow. Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and appeared in the August 1975 issue Werewolf by Night #32. Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy) and Beau DeMayo (The Originals and The Witcher) writing the series. Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead are directing.

Moon Knight will be released on March 30th.
