First Look at Nicolas Cage's H.P. Lovecraft Inspired Film COLOR OUT OF SPACE

One film that I’ve been very interested in seeing is Nicholas Cage’s Color Out of Space. The film is based on the H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name, and it was directed by Richard Stanley (Hardware, Dust Devil, The Island Of Dr. Moreau).

The film is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of their Midnight Madness lineup, and they also released an image giving us our first look at the film. The image features Cage standing next to a station wagon looking at some interesting visual changes taking place in front of him.

This story for the film is set in the present day and it centers on the Gardners, “a family who moves to a remote New England farmstead to escape the hustle of the 21st century. They are busy adapting to their new life when a meteorite crashes into their front yard. It seems to melt into the earth, infecting both the land and the properties of space-time with a strange, otherworldly color, and to the family’s horror they discover the alien force is gradually mutating every life form that it touches including them.”

As a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and Cage, I’m very excited about seeing how this movie turns out. I’m sure it’s going to end up being one hell of a wild ride. The movie also stars Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard and Q’Orianka Kilcher.

SpectreVision’s Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Lisa Whalen and Elijah Wood are producing, with Timur Bekbosunov, Johnny Chang, Emma Lee and Peter Wong executive producing for ACE Pictures.

There’s no word on when the film will get a theatrical release, but it’s on my list of must see films!
