First Look at The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Villain The Tinkerer, and Empire Magazine Cover

We've had a glimpse of a few of Spider-Man's villains in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers and photos that have been released, but some things have still been absent. One of those things includes The Tinkerer, a classic Spider-Man villain who will be helping out the Vulture and Shocker in the new movie. Thanks to Empire Magazine, we now have a good glimpse of this mad mechanic played by Michael Chernus.

In all fairness, he doesn't look as cool as Michael Keaton as the Vulture, but who would? My favorite part is that he has his iconic cardigan. I know, it sounds crazy, but the Tinkerer, even in the comics, was not as showy of a villain. He usually wore sweaters, cardigans, and sports jackets like an old man... because he was an old man. The fact that they placed a warm looking cardigan over his overalls gives him that extra piece that makes me kinda smile. I also enjoy his tech specs that he wears over his head. I have to say I'm excited about all three of the villains in this new film. Shocker, Vulture, and Tinkerer have a look that isn't going overboard, but a good starting place for Spider-Man.

We also have a little knowledge on who the Tinkerer is in this film. In the comics, he was an Alien. (Not really, but he pretended to be one the first time we saw him and didn't change until later). Co-producer Eric Caroll had this to say about Tinkerer as a sidekick to Adrian Toomes, who may be losing his job due to Damage Control, who comes in and takes over the tech salvaging business.

"That puts him in a pretty desperate situation. So with one of the trucks they've already loaded up, he and his crew, with the help of a character called The Tinkerer, start stealing more of this exotic tech - Chitauri, Dark Elf, and even some Stark stuff - to retro-fit and sell on the black market."

I think it is a great conflict built from the world that has been created from previous films. My only hope is that it doesn't rely on the previous films too much to build a story. What do you think of The Tinkerer? Sound off below. I also included the Empire Magazine Spider-Man: Homecoming cover below:
