First Look at STARNGER THINGS: TALES FROM '85 - Netflix Reveals Footage, Cast, and Story Details

Netflix is bringing fans back to Hawkins, Indiana, but this time, it’s animated. As part of its annual “Stranger Things Day” celebration, the streamer dropped a ton of exciting new details for the upcoming animated spinoff Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

The reveal includes a behind-the-scenes featurette, first-look images, and the full voice cast for the series.

The new show will dive into an untold chapter that takes place between Seasons 2 and 3 of Stranger Things. In the featurette, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer open up about their creative inspirations for the animated world, while showrunner Eric Robles shares his approach to keeping the spirit of the original show alive in a new medium.

Robles explains how the team worked to recreate the nostalgic energy that fans love. The goal is to capture the same mix of friendship, mystery, and supernatural chaos that made Stranger Things a huge hit.

Netflix also revealed the full voice cast for the show, which includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. The supporting cast will feature Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.

According to the official logline, “Welcome back to Hawkins in the stark winter of 1985, where the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town in Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, an epic new animated series.”

The Duffer Brothers’ world continues to expand, and this spinoff looks like it’s going to be something cool for longtime fans. While Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 doesn’t yet have an official release date, it’s set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2026.

And for those counting down, the Stranger Things saga isn’t over yet, the fifth and final season of the flagship series is set to debut on November 26, 2025.
