First Look at Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx in New ROBIN HOOD Film
We are getting a new Robin Hood movie next year from director Otto Bathurst and we finally have our first look! I like what I'm seeing in these first photos. It looks like we’ll have some fights inside the city walls as well as the love story of Robin and Maid Marion. Just looking at the pictures it seems we might be getting a heist film, a Jason Bourne film, and a love story revolving around a bow. I see how he looks at that thing. After all, this is Robin Hood, he's all about the heists!
According to the synopsis, Robin and Little John start a revolt against a corrupt English ruler. This sounds a little different from the story I remember hearing as a boy of Robin Hood where he just robbed from the rich to give to the poor. It makes sense though. The best way to disrupt a ruler is to take their wealth, so this probably just adds onto that with Robin running through the streets with his bow drawn. Sounds like they plan on making this more action-packed than the story of Robin hiding in the forest and I would not be surprised if half the movie was them storming Nottingham to get to the crown.
This movie has a pretty star-studded cast with Taron Egerton from Kingsman as Robin Hood, Jamie Foxx as Little John, Jamie Dornan will be Will Scarlet, Eve Hewson playing Maid Marian, and Ben Mendelsohn will be the Sheriff of Nottingham. In addition, Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the producers. These images have my interest piqued. Maybe we can get more info soon. Are you excited by this movie? Is Robin Hood overdone?
