First Look at the Live-Action POWERPUFF GIRLS
The CW has started production on its live-action Powerpuff Girls series, and some photos from the set have surfaced, giving us our first look at Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. As you can see they are all decked out in their costumes, which are simple and minimalist.
The series will catch up with Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, “who used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes but now are disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?”
The series is based on the original Cartoon Network animated series and characters created by Craig McCracken. Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) and Diablo Cody (Juno) have written the script for the pilot, and Maggie Kiley is set to direct. Regnier, Cody, and Kiley will all executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.
The series will also star Donald Faison as Professor Drake Utonium and Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo Jr. Check out the photos and let us know what ya think!
