First Look at Tom Hiddleston in Apple Drama Series THE ESSEX SERPENT

Apple has released a first look photo of Tom Hiddleston in the adapted dramatic series The Essex Serpent. He joins Claire Danes in the series, who took over the lead role from Keira Knightley. The series is based on a novel by Sarah Perry, and it’s being written by Anna Symon, with Clio Barnard directing.

Here’s the synopsis:

The one-hour drama series follows newly widowed Cora (Danes) who, having being released from an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex, intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area. Hiddleston will star as Will Ransome, the trusted leader of a small rural community.

The six-episode series is continuing casting as it moves forward with principal photography. This sounds like an interesting series with two extremely strong leads, and I am excited to check it out.
