First Look Images Of WOKE Season 2

Hulu’s original comedy series Woke is coming back for season 2 on April 8.  Lamorne Morris (“Keef”), Blake Anderson (“Gunther”), T. Murph (“Clovis”), Sasheer Zamata (“Ayana”), and JB Smoove will be returning for 8 more episodes focusing on the journey of cartoonist Keef Knight from innocuous comic artist to activist. Here’s the official synopsis for the season:

Cartoonist Keef Knight is now a popular activist on the rise, but he’s facing a world where “woke” has become big business. Can Keef and his friends bring about real change, or is it just about the dollar$? And can Keef navigate this new world without destroying what he’s become? Inspired by the life and work of artist Keith Knight, “Woke” continues to upend Black nerd and activist culture, deftly satirizing with a wink and a smile.

The premise sounds preachy, but this show is actually really good. It does a really good job at balancing the seriousness of it’s topic with comically poking holes in how ridiculous some aspects can be. This new season sounds really interesting as Keef is now fully part of the activist world. It should be fun to see if they continue incorporating his drawings talking to him and to see how he navigates this new chapter of his life.
