First Look Photo For Marvel's Upcoming Series ECHO
Marvel has shared a first look photo at its upcoming series Echo. The series will center around the deaf Native American character Echo, who was introduced in the Hawkeye series. The character is being played by Alaqua Cox, and as you can see in the photo, it looks like she’s been through a rough time.
The Echo series is being developed by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are attached to write and executive produce the show. Reservation Dogs star Devery Jacobs also previously joined the cast.
In the series, "the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."
I really like this Echo character, and I was happy with how she was portrayed in Hawkeye. She’s got an interesting backstory, and I’m looking forward to seeing how her arc plays out over the course of the new series, which could very well also include Kingpin and Daredevil.
Reservation Dogs helmer Sydney Freeland is expected to direct a few of the show's six-episode season.
