First Look Photo From Season 3 of PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS Which Is Set to Return Later This Year
Disney+ has announced that after the season 2 cliffhanger dropped this week, season 3 of Percy Jackson and The Olympians is set to return later this year.
The company did not say when, exactly, to expect the third installment. However, there was a first look at the forthcoming season in the Season 2 finale credits, featuring a highly anticipated moment from the third novel in Rick Riordan’s series, The Titan’s Curse, which you can check out below.
In the clip, Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Percy (Walker Scobell) are standing on the edge of the dance floor in what appears to be a school gymnasium when, all of a sudden, Annabeth takes a deep breath and grabs Percy’s hand, dragging him onto the dance floor.
The moment advances the romantic tension between the two teens in a major way, and director James Bobin previously teased that the scene would appear in the first episode of Season 3.
There are several anticipated moments and character introductions to come in the third season. At the Season 2 premiere in December, Scobell teased to Deadline that he had recently filmed “a really big scene in the middle of a junkyard,” hinting to fans that another pivotal moment from the books was set to unfold in the series as well.
Season 3, based on The Titan’s Curse, the third installment in Rick Riordan’s book series, is currently in production in Vancouver.
Starring Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Daniel Diemer and Aryna Simhadri, new Season 3 cast includes Holt McCallany in a recurring guest role as the legendary Titan Atlas, David Costabile as Dr. Thorn and Jesse L. Martin as Annabeth’s mortal dad Frederick Chase. Season 3 cast also includes Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie, who will play the children of Hades, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, respectively, as well as Dafne Keen as Artemis and Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade.
