First Look Photo of Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington in David O. Russell's Crime Epic AMSTERDAM
A first look photo was released this week from the new David O. Russell movie, Amsterdam. Featured in the photo are stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington. They are joined in all-star the cast by Robert DeNiro, Anya Taylor Joy, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Alessandro Nivola. Taylor Swift also co-stars in the film, and her character was briefly seen tearing up in highlights played from the movie.
Amsterdam is set in the 1930s and “follows a trio of pals who witness a murder and become suspects themselves as they try to figure out what really is going on.”
Disney’s head of theatrical, Tony Chambers, introduced the film at CinemaCon, saying that writer-director Russell “brought together an all-star cast in Amsterdam, which is an original romantic crime epic about three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plans in American history.”
Oscar-winning director Russell has a pretty bad reputation for his on-set attitude, but people still flock to be in his films, as he cranks out some incredible stories and award-winning performances. The Fighter, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, and Joy are a few of Russell’s films that have been the most successful, and as a fan of those, I am looking forward to Amsterdam as well.
