First Look Photo of Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway in Apple TV+ WeWork Limited Drama Series WECRASHED

A first look photo has been released for the upcoming limited drama series WeCrashed, based on the podcast of the same name, which chronicles the meteoric rise of the shared-workspace company WeWork and its subsequent crash.

Oscar-winner Jared Leto plays the company’s CEO, Adam Neumann, whose fall from grace “led to him stepping down as CEO in 2019 amid scathing reports alleging shameful treatment of staff and questionable financial practices. But the heart of the series is Neumann's relationship with his wife, Rebekah (who faced similar allegations of eyebrow-raising behavior as a WeWork exec).” Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway plays Rebekah Neumann in the series.

WeCrashed showrunners Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello talked to EW about the story and working with Hathaway, saying:

"What separates [WeCrashed] from other things we've seen in this genre is that we watch the story through the prism of this couple. We see this cult of personality within the business story, and then come home with them at night."

“We became even more fascinated with Rebekah than we were with Adam, which says quite a bit. There are such complexities to the character — it required an actor of unsurpassed skill to capture all of the shades."

When talking about working with method actor Leto, Eisenberg and Crevello added:

"We only spoke to 'Adam Neumann.' Jared does this complete transformation, with prosthetics and an Israeli accent.”

“My father's Israeli, and he had no notes on the accent. I was like, 'Okay, we're good. We're good.'"

I love a good series based on strange-but-true incidents. And these two actors always give it their all in every performance, so I can’t wait to check it out. Leto and Hathaway are joined in the cast by O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale) and America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), as well as Robert Emmet Lunney (Law & Order, Julia & Julia), and Theo Stockman (Bonding).

WeCrashed is set to hit Apple TV+ in 2022.
