First Official Look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in VENOM

Thanks to IGN, we have our first official look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in director Ruben Fleischer's upcoming Venom film. As you can see... he looks very much like Tom Hardy. Sony Pictures also released a full video of their big panel for the film at Brazil Comic-Con. This video includes a sneak peek at the Atlanta sets of the film. While talking about the inspiration behind the film, the director confirmed:

"We want to be as true as possible to the comic with our film. But our story is primarily based on the Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiotes book."

Venom: Lethal Protector was a 1993 six-issue miniseries written by David Michelinie. The story followed Venom moving to San Francisco after he and Spider-Man made a truce.

Once in San Francisco, Venom is hunted down by the Life Foundation, who wants to study the Venom symbiote so they can use it for their own evil purposes. From it, they will create five new symbiote spawn including Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.

I can't wait to get our first official look at what Hardy will look like as Venom! Venom also stars Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate.  It's set to be released in theaters on October 5, 2018.
