First Official Synopsis Released For Keanu Reeves' JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3
As Lionsgate prepares for their presentation this afternoon at CinemaCon, they've released the first official synopsis for John Wick: Chapter 3. As you might imagine, after the events of Chapter 2, John Wick is on the run after being excommunicated from The Continental with a contract on his head.
This is such an incredibly fun and action-packed franchise and I'm pretty excited to see how this story comes to a close. To think, this whole thing started because some asshat killed John Wick's dog. Here's the synopsis:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first film is returning to direct John: Wick Chapter 3 from a script written by David Kolstad, who wrote the first two movies. The movie is said to start shooting this week, so I doubt that the studio will have any footage to show us today.
John Wick: Chapter 3 is currently set to hit theaters on May 17, 2019. And don't forget! Starz is also developing a spinoff TV series called The Continental.
