First Photo From Disney's Live-Action PINOCCHIO Movie Starring Tom Hanks

Disney+ has released a first look image of its upcoming all-new live-action adaptation of Pinocchio. As you can see, the film’s visual style is very much inspired by the classic animated film, which is one of my favorite Disney movies.

Pinocchio tells such a wonderful story of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. But the story is also quite dark and terrifying. One thing that I hope from this film is that it will have that crazy weird darkness.

The movie comes from director Robert Zemeckis (Forest Gump, Cast Away, Back To The Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood-carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his "conscience"; Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is "Honest" John; Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman.

The movie is set to drop on Disney+ later this year in September. What are your thoughts in this first look photo?
