First Photos and Release Date For Stephen King's New Series MR. MERCEDES

Of the many Stephen King projects that are currently in development, one is a series adaptation of Mr. Mercedes, which is described by the author as a "hard boiled detective tale." Today we have some photos that give us our first look at the series along with a premiere date, which will take place on August 9th and 8pm on AT&T Now's Audience Network.

The series comes from screenwriter David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and director Jack Bender (Game of Thrones). The two main cast members of the series include Harry Treadaway, Brendan Gleeson, and Mary Louise-Parker. Here's the synopsis:

Based on Stephen King’s 2014 book, “Mr. Mercedes” follows demented killer Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway), who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this new series turns out. I love the stories of Stephen King and this has the makings of a fantastic series!
